ED & TED'S EXCELLENT LIGHTING
Company History

Ed & Ted's was founded in 1994 in Salt Lake City, UT by event producer Ted Fowler, concert promoter Jim McNeill and audio company owner Ed Pratt. The company was initially started with a combined $100,000 investment as a sideline business for the three partners as a complement to the work they were all doing in the concert and entertainment industry. The company quickly emerged from the local rental business into the national touring market beginning with their first major client, Alanis Morissette, and by 1996 Fowler made the decision to shift his focus full time to the lighting business and buy out his partners. Between 1996 and 2007 the company's growth called for eventual expansion into a 40,000 square foot plus facility as part of a strategic move to Southern California. Ted's leadership of the growing team he hand-picked from the top names in the industry, including Vari-Lite veteran Kevin Forster, resulted in a huge demand for the company's services. Together he and Forster built an impeccable reputation in the concert lighting industry based on valuing strong client relationships as much as state-of-the-art equipment. Many of the top names in the music industry have relied on Ed & Ted's, including Bon Jovi, Beyonce, Matchbox 20, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and The Eagles. The company also maintained a large and impressive roster of international corporate and event clients.

Through careful planning, hard work and true commitment, Ed & Ted's grew in 13 years from a small local rental house to a major player in the industry with sales climbing steadily, reaching in excess of $13 million annually. Ed & Ted's reputation for consistently meeting obligations to clients, employees and financial partners resulted in the company having been regularly nominated, and often named, Lighting Company of the Year by leading industry publications.
